Abstract Metastasis is one of the most important biological characteristics of malignant tumor, and it is the main risk factor to the patient's life. Bcl-2 is considered as a key factor in anti-apoptosis, but recent studies show that Bcl-2 may play an important role in promoting tumor metastasis. In this paper, review the function of bcl-2 in regulating cell migration, invasion and tumor metastasis and discuss associated molecular mechanism in cellular, animal models and patients levels, and also make a prospect for the therapeutic strategy to target Bcl-2, in order to provide a basis for the inhibition of tumor metastasis.
