Abstract Ma Zhanping archiater is a famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor in Shaanxi Province. Now, he is the head of the expert group on the prevention and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019. For coronavirus disease 2019, based on the traditional Chinese medicine etiology concept of “exogenous pathogen invading human body, human body difficult to know at begin, know the disease because of advance, syndrome can be differentiated then”, Ma Zhanping believes that the occurrence of coronavirus disease 2019 is due to the qi of epidemic disease and the pathogenesis is “cold, wet, hot and toxic”. He proposes that the principle-method combined theory of “combination of cold and heat”, such as syndrome differentiation of six channels theory, syndrome differentiation of sanjiao theory, and so on, can be applied in syndrome differentiation of this disease, and he uses Chinese herbal medicine to treat this disease.
