Analysis of risk factors for urinary sepsis after soft ureteroscopic lithotripsy |

Abstract Objective To analyze the risk factors of urinary sepsis after soft uretroscope lithotripsy. Methods The clinical data of 150 patients who underwent soft ureteroscopic lithotripsy in Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from January 2017 to February 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the presence or absence of urinary sepsis, they were divided into the occurrence group (14 cases) and the non-occurrence group (136 cases). The risk factors of urinary sepsis after soft ureteroscope were explored. Results Univariate analysis revealed statistically significant differences in age, preoperative urine culture, infectious stones, stone size, operation time, pyelourinary bacterial culture during operation, postoperative procalcitonin (PCT), postoperative interleukin-6, and postoperative white blood cell count (WBC) (all P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that age, infectious stones, pyelourinary bacterial culture during operation, postoperative PCT, and postoperative WBC were independent risk factors for urinary sepsis after soft ureteroscopy lithotripsy. Conclusion Age, infectious stones, pyelourinary bacterial culture during operation, postoperative PCT, and postoperative WBC are independent risk factors for uremia sepsis after soft ureterotomy lithotripsy, which deserve the attention of clinicians.
