Abstract In recent years, the research on the theory of membranous diseases has gradually become a new hot issue, and membranous diseases and rheumatism are closely related in many aspects, such as disease location, pathological characteristics, etc. This paper will start from the related theory of membranous diseases, combined with the theory of “viscera wind and dampness” proposed by academician Tong Xiaolin, and discuss preliminarily the characteristics and relationship between membranous diseases and rheumatism through elaborating their respective characteristics and relations. The diagnosis and treatment of rheumatism based on the theory of membrane diseases can provide new ideas and methods for the treatment based on syndrome differentiation of rheumatism in clinic.
