| The intervention effects of Orem self-care model in patients of lymphoma with PICC tube during the intermittent period |

Abstract Objective To explore the effects of Orem self-care model in patients of lymphoma with PICC tube during the intermittent period. Methods From September 2013 to January 2016, 68 patients with lymphoma treated in Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital were selected and divided into Orem group and control group by random number table, with 34 patients in each group. The control group was given routine care during the intermittent period and the Orem group was given Orem self-care model on the basis the control group. The incidence of complications, self-care ability and the score of life quality were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of complications in the Orem group (8.8%) was lower than that of control group (32.4%), with statistically significant difference (P ＜ 0.05). After nursing, the score of self-care ability in the two groups were all higher than that of before nursing, and that in Orem group was higher than that of control group, with statistically significant difference (P ＜ 0.05). After nursing, the scores of life quality such as social relationships, environment, physiology, psychology in the Orem group were all higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences(P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Orem self-care model can improve the self-care ability of the patients of lymphoma with PICC tube during the intermittent period, reduce the incidence of complications, so as to promote the quality of life.
