| Clinical study on self-made Yiqi Huoxue Quyu Decoction in the treatment of postoperative syndrome of lumbar disc herniation |

Abstract Objective To explore clinical effect of self-made Yiqi Huoxue Quyu Decoction in the treatment of postoperative syndrome of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods One hundred and three patients with postoperative syndrome of LDH admitted to Tieling Central Hospital from January 2017 to March 2019 were selected, they were divided into control group (51 cases) and study group (52 cases) according to random number table method. Control group was given routine treatment, and study group was given self-made Yiqi Huoxue Quyu Decoction on the basis of control group, two groups were treated for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacy, inflammatory factors, pain visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry dysfunction index (ODI), Chinese medicine symptom score and adverse reactions were compared between two groups. Results Total clinical effective rate in study group was significantly higher than that in control group after 4 weeks of treatment (P < 0.05). The serum levels of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels in study group were lower than those in control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of VAS, ODI and Chinese medicine symptoms in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in study group were lower than those in control group (P < 0.05). No serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusion Self-made Yiqi Huoxue Quyu Decoction can effectively improve clinical symptoms and reduce the level of inflammatory factors in the treatment of postoperative syndrome of LDH. It has good safety and high clinical application value.
