Abstract The development of TCM professionals directly affects the development of TCM health undertakings. In the context of healthcare reform, how to seize the opportunity, to use the strength, to avoid the weakness and threat becomes urgently needs to discuss. In order to provide reference for the development of TCM health human resources, this paper analyzes strengths and weaknesses of TCM professionals, combines the opportunities and threats in the external environment. Then it proposes to grasp the healthcare reform policy and maintain the traditional advantages of TCM, to implement the performance reform and affirm the value of medical professionals, to establish a competitive talent market in line with socialist market economy and other strategies.
