| Effect of long-term standardized inhaled drugs and home oxygen therapy on pulmonary function and quality of life in patients with COPD at stable stage |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of long-term standard inhaled drugs and home oxygen therapy on pulmonary function and quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at stable stage, and to provide evidence for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Methods A total of 100 patients with COPD at stable stage admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine, the Central Hospital of Maanshan, Anhui Province from April 2018 to April 2019 were selected as study subjects, and they were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional therapy, while the observation group was treated with long-term standard inhaled drugs combined with home oxygen therapy for six months. The results after treatment were compared, and the changes of lung function, dyspnea score and quality of life score before and after treatment were recorded. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) in both groups were increased compared with that before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group, ratio of forced expiratory volume in the first second to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) in the observation group was increased compared with that before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, both dyspnea and quality of life scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). No significant adverse reactions were observed during treatment in both groups. Conclusion Long-term standardized inhaled drugs and home oxygen therapy have significant effects on COPD at stable stage, which can improve the symptoms of dyspnea, promote the recovery of pulmonary function of patients, improve the quality of life, and can be popularized in clinical use.
