Effect of Shengyangyishen Decoction combined with Loratadine in the treatment of children with asthma and allergic rhinitis |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical effect of Shengyangyishen Decoction combined with Loratadine in the treatment of children with asthma and allergic rhinitis. Methods From Octomber 2016 to Octomber 2019, 86 cases with asthma and allergic rhinitis children in Panzhihua Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Sichuan Province were selected. According to the random number table method, they were devided into control group and treatment group, with 43 cases in each group. Control group was treated with Loratadine, while treatment group was treated with Shengyangyishen Decoction combined with Loratadine. The two groups were treated for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy of two groups were compared. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), peak expiratory flow (PEF) and serum level of interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-8, IL-10 of two groups before and after treatment were compared. The adverse reactions of two groups during the treatment were recorded and compared. Results The clinical efficacy of treatment group was higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, FEV1, FVC, PEF levels in two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment, and treatment group were higher than control group (all P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and treatment group were lower than control group (all P < 0.05). The serum levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the serum levels of IL-10 were higher than those before treatment, and the serum levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in treatment group were lower than those in control group, and the serum levels of IL-10 were higher than those in control group (all P < 0.05). There were no serious adverse reaction of two groups during treatment. Conclusion Shengyangyishen Decoction combined with Loratadine have a significant clinical effect in the treatment of children with asthma and allergic rhinitis, which can significantly reduce clinical symptoms, improve lung function, inhibit inflammatory response, and has a good safety.
