Abstract Banxia Xiexin Decoction, the original prescription begins in Shanghan Zabing Lun, founded by the medical saint Zhang Zhongjing, has the function of harmonizing liver and spleen, mildly regulating cold and heat, relieving oppression and masses. Its main treatment cold and hot mixed ruffian syndrome and has been widely used in clinical practice by doctors of previous generations. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that it can protect the gastric mucosa, regulate the metabolism of blood glucose and lipid, resist cell apoptosis, regulate the intestinal flora, regulate neurotransmitter and other pharmacological effects. The author reviews the literatures on the pharmacological effect of Banxia Xiexin Decoction at home and abroad in recent years, and summarizes its modern pharmacological effect, especially its research progress on tumor, in order to provide certain reference for the in-depth research of scientific research workers and the clinical work of medical workers.
