Abstract Objective To investigate the status of self-perceived burden and the related influencing factors in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 229 elderly patients with coronary heart disease from February to September 2018 treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University were collected via convenience sampling method and questionnaire investigated. The general survey questionnaire, self-perceived burden scale (SPBS), medical coping modes questionnaire (MCMQ), hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS), and general self-efficacy scale (GSES) were adopted to investigate the participants. Multiple linear regression was used to explore the influencing factors of self-perceived burden in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Results The total score of self-perceived burden was at a mild level of (28.83±7.88) scores. The influencing factors for self-perceived burden included avoidance coping style, anxiety, depression, and self-efficacy (adjusted R2=0.452, P < 0.05). Conclusion The self-perceived burden of elderly coronary heart disease patients is at a mild level, and targeted interventions should be taken to reduce the self-perceived burden and promote their mental health.
