Abstract The strategies to improve the teaching method of medicinal chemistry according to its characteristics was put forward in this paper, it was advocated that the teaching should take the students as the main body, and use the heuristic teaching mode to stimulate the students take the initiative to think. Teachers should explore the teaching resources from daily life and link the textbook closely with practice to highlight the practical value of medicinal chemistry, increasing interest in learning. Meanwhile, special attention should be paid to experimental teaching to cultivate students′ practical ability and scientific innovation ability, laying a good foundation for the cultivation of innovative and applied pharmaceutical talents.
