Abstract [Abstract] Objective To explore effect of behavior change theory in stages intervening exercise in patient with hemodialysis. Methods 56 patients with maintenance hemodialysis in Hemodialysis Room of the Third People′s Hospital of Luoyang City, He′nan Province from December 2013 to December 2014 were selected as research objects. Behavior change theory in stages was applied in intervening exercise of patient. Followed up for 12 months, exercise status of hemodialysis patients before and after intervention were investigated by using exercise benefit and barrier scale of hemodialysis patient. The number of adherence to exercise and exercise adherence before and after intervention were monitored. The dates were counted and analyzed. Results After intervention, exercise benefit and barrier scores of hemodialysis patients were increased significantly, the number of adherence to exercise was increased, exercise adherence was improved, compared with before intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Behavior change theory in stages intervening exercise in patient with hemodialysis can effectively improve exercise behavior of patient.
