Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of rhubarb powder at Shenque point in the treatment of patients with slow transit constipation after acupotomology. Methods From June 2015 to December 2016, 100 clinical data of patients treated in Nanjing Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital were analyzed retrospectively and divided into the control group (48 cases) and the treatment group (52 cases) by different treatment. The control group was given routine treatment, while the treatment group was given rhubarb powder sticking at Shenque point after acupotomology, with 24 h per time, 3 days for a course. The total effective rate, first time defecation, symptom scores and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the treatment group was (90.38%) higher than that of control group (85.42%), but with no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). The first time defecation in the treatment group [(14.5±6.4) h] was shorter than that of control group [(18.7±1.2) h], with statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). The symptom scores after treatment in the two groups were all lower than those of before treatment, with statistically significant differences (P > 0.05); but after treatment, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The nursing satisfaction in the treatment group was higher than that of control group, with statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). Conclusion The efficacy of rhubarb powder at Shenque point in the treatment of patients with slow transit constipation after acupotomology is good. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
