Abstract:Objective To explore the application and significance of mind mapping in the process of clinical teaching in nursing students of the digestive department. Methods A total of 82 nursing students in the digestive department of Nantong Second People's Hospital from September to October 2016 were collected, and divided into the control group and experiment group by random number table, with 41 students in each group. The control group was taught by oral instruction + multimedia presentation(PPT), and the experiment group was taught by oral instruction + PPT + mind mapping. After the end of the teaching, the examination and questionnaire were used to evaluate the teaching effect. Results After teaching, the assessment grades of theory and operation in the experiment group were higher than those of control group (P < 0.05). The total score and six dimensions (except cognitive maturity) scores of critical thinking ability in the experiment group were higher than those of control group (P < 0.05). The satisfaction of nursing students on the quality of teaching in the experimental group was significantly higher than control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Mind mapping can effectively increase the achievement of theory and operation of nursing students in the digestive department, and improve their critical thinking ability and the satisfaction of the quality of teaching.
