Abstract:Objective To systematically assess the clinical efficacy of auricular point sticking in the treatment of post-stroke depression. Methods The database of PubMed, EMBase, The Cochrane Library, Wed of Science, CBM, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang Data were searched by computer to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about auricular point sticking combined with other therapy (experimental group) comparing with other routine therapy (control group) in the treatment of post-stroke depression, the retrieval time limit was from data building to November 2017. Two researchers made literature screening, data extraction, quality assessment independently, then RevMan5.3 software was used to make meta analysis. Results Total 10 RCTs involving 744 patients were enrolled into this research. The meta analysis showed that: the total effective rate of experimental group was significantly higher than that of control group (OR = 3.21, 95%CI: 1.65 - 6.24,P = 0.0006); after treatment, the score of Hamilton depression scale in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of control group (MD = -3.26, 95%CI: -4.56 - -1.96, P < 0.000 01); there were no statistically significant differences of the scores of Barthel index and neurologic impairment between the two groups after treatment (MD = 4.5, 95%CI: -0.99 - 10.00,P = 0.11; MD = 0.76, 95%CI: -0.20 - 1.72, P = 0.12). Conclusion Auricular point sticking in the treatment of post-stroke depression is effective, but the enrolled randomized controlled trials still need high quality, large sample, multi-center randomized studies to further verify.
