Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of tumor metastasis suppressor gene-1 (TMSG-1) and chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) in colon cancer and clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods From September 2016 to September 2017, 58 patients with colon cancer in Yiwu Central Hospital of Zhejiang Province were selected as study objects. The cancer tissues from patients with colon cancer and the adjacent tissues more than 5 cm away from the tumor site were collected. The expression of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 was detected by immunohistochemistry. The expression of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 in different pathological features and the expression of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 in patients with different prognosis were compared. Results The positive expression rates of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 in cancer tissues were higher than those in adjacent tissues (P < 0.05). TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis were associated with positive expression of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 (P < 0.05). The overall survival of colon cancer patients with low TMSG-1 expression was higher than that with high TMSG-1 expression (P < 0.05). The overall survival of colon cancer patients with low CXCR4 expression was higher than that with high CXCR4 expression (P < 0.05). Conclusion The expression of TMSG-1 and CXCR4 is high in colon cancer, which is closely related to TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and prognosis.
