Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between education level, quality of life and self-management behavior of patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 126 patients with schizophrenia who were hospitalized in the Mental Health Center of West China Hospital of Sichuan University from October 2019 to May 2020 were selected as the research objects. The quality of life questionnaire for patients with schizophrenia and the self-management behavior questionnaire for patients with schizophrenia were used to evaluate patients. Results The quality of life score of patients with schizophrenia was (39.77±19.26) points; the score of self-management behavior was (84.65±23.47) points. The total scores of quality of life and the dimensions of psychosocial scale, symptom and side effects scale of schizophrenia patients with different levels of education were compared, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); there was a statistically significant difference in the drug management dimension of self-management behavior (P < 0.05). The patient’s education level (β = -0.246) and the self-efficacy dimension of self-management behavior (β = -0.474) negatively predicted the quality of life; the level of education had an indirect effect on the quality of life through the self-efficacy dimension, and the mediation effect accounted for 42.2% of the total effect. Conclusion Patients with schizophrenia with a high level of education are confident in self-management of the disease, and their quality of life is good. Therefore, according to the patients’ different education levels, focus on cultivating the patient’s disease self-management ability to improve the patient’s quality of life.
