Abstract:Objective To explore the application of Omaha system nursing intervention in the prevention of deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods From January 2018 to December 2019, the study subjects selected 85 patients in the orthopedic ward of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University who were admitted to undergo THA, and according to odd and even numbers, they were randomly divided into control group (42 cases) and observation group (43 cases). The control group received routine nursing intervention in the hospital, and the observation group implemented the Omaha system nursing intervention on the basis of the control group; the anxiety, pain, hip joint function and the incidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of patient anxiety scale and visual simulation score of the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and the observation group was lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). In addition to the deformity score lower than that of the control group, the function, activity and pain of the observation group were all higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The incidence of lower limb swelling and DVT in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and patient satisfaction was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of nursing intervention based on the Omaha system is effective in preventing DVT in patients undergoing THA, reducing anxiety and pain, and improving patient satisfaction and hip joints function, worthy of clinical promotion.
