Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging image characteristics in the diagnosis of dangerous placenta previa

Abstract:Objective To analyze the image characteristics of ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of dangerous placenta previa (PPP). Methods Sixty patients with PPP confirmed by postoperative pathology in Changzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2017 to April 2020 were selected. With postoperative pathological diagnosis as the gold standard, the ultrasound and MRI diagnosis results were compared, and the image characteristics were analyzed. Results A total of 50 cases were confirmed by postoperative pathology with placental implantation; ultrasonography was used to diagnose 42 cases with placental implantation; MRI diagnosis of 45 cases with placental implantation, and ultrasonography combined with MRI was used to diagnose 48 cases with placental implantation. The PPP accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, Yoden index and AUC values of the joint examination were 90.00%, 92.00%, 80.00%, 0.72 and 0.93, respectively, which were all higher than the single examination method, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion Both ultrasound and MRI images of PPP patients have characteristics, and ultrasound combined with MRI is helpful to improve the diagnostic accuracy of PPP.
