Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of teachers standardized patients (TSP) in clinical teaching practice of obstetrics and gynecology. Methods A total of 115 students from the five-year clinical medicine specialty of 2013 in the Third Clinical Medical College of Xinjiang Medical University were selected as research objects and randomly divided into two groups: experimental group (60 students) and control group (55 students). They were taken TSP teaching and regular teaching respectively. At the end of the teaching, the theoretical and clinical skills in the two groups were assessed; at the same time, the teaching satisfaction of the two groups for the teaching situation was surveyed. Results The satisfactory rate of the students in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the theoretical scores of the students in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the differences were all statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference of the scores of writing complete medical records between the two groups (P > 0.05). The scores of history-taking, gynecologic examination, diagnostic basis, differential diagnosis, doctor-patient communication in the students of experimental group were higher than those of the control group(P < 0.05). While there was no statistically significant difference of the scores of making plans of diagnosis and treatment and the accept attitude between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion In the clinical teaching of obstetrics and gynecology, the application of TSP can improve the clinical practice skills of medical students.
