Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of group cognitive behavioral therapy on sleep quality, anxiety and depression in patients with insomniac breast cancer survivors during chemotherapy. Methods From August 2018 to February 2019, 62 patients with insomniac breast cancer survivors received chemotherapy in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, random number table method was used to divide the patients into intervention group and control group, 31 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the intervention group received group cognitive behavioral therapy intervention for six weeks on the basis of the control group. The pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and hospital anxiety and depression scale scores were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results Intervention group after intervention, time to fall asleep, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, daytime dysfunction, and total score of PSQI were all lower than before intervention (P < 0.05), in addition, the four dimensions of sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleeping time and sleeping efficiency and the total score of PSQI were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05). The scores of all dimensions and total scores of all dimensions of the hospital anxiety and depression cale in intervention group were significantly lower than those before intervention and lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion Group cognitive behavioral therapy is helpful to improve the sleep quality of patients with Insomniac breast cancer survivors during chemotherapy, and has a good effect on reducing their anxiety and depression.
