Abstract:Objective To prepare the Emu oil Microemulsion and investigate the stability of the preparation. Methods The Emu oil Microemulsion was prepared by adding water and the prescription process was optimized by single factor method and orthogonal test. The appearance shape score, the centrifugal stability constant and the particle size were selected as the index, the Emu oil Microemulsion was prepared by screening the ratio of Tween 80/Span80 and the amount of glycerol and the stability of the preparation prepared by the optimal formulation was investigated. Results The optimal Microemulsion was composed of emu oil 0.03 g, Tween80/Span80 (4∶1) 0.80 g, glycerol 0.20 g and plused deionized water to 20 mL. The prepared Microemulsion was O/W type, which was clear and transparent, the average particle size of 100-200 nm and there is no separation after the separation and oil droplets. Conclusion The Emu oil Microemulsion made by this optimum formulation and preparation procedure has excellent physicochemical properties.
