Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of implanting catgut in abdominal acupoint combined with Heye Jiangzhi Decoction on glucose and lipid metabolism in obese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Methods A total of 155 obese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients admitted to Qianjiang Central Hospital of Chongqing City from February 2016 to March 2018 were prospectively selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group (77 cases) and observation group (78 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Heye Jiangzhi Decoction, and the observation group was added with implanting catgut in abdominal acupoint on the basis of the control group. The clinical effect after treatment and the level of fasting blood glucose (FBG) at different time were observed. The levels of blood lipid indexes (total cholesterol [TC], triacylglycerol [TG], low density lipoprotein-cholesterol [LDL-C], high density lipoprotein-cholesterol [HDL-C]), nesfatin-1 and apelin were recorded before and after treatment. Obesity was recorded before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of obesity, TC, TG, LDL-C, nesfatin-1 and apelin in the two groups decreased, while the level of HDL-C increased, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of obesity, TC, TG, LDL-C, nesfatin-1 and apelin in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the HDL-C was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The FBG level of the two groups showed a decreasing trend with time, and the FBG level at 30 and 60 d after treatment of the observation group were lower than those of the control group respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Implanting catgut in abdominal acupoint combined with Heye Jiangzhi Decoction is effective in the treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus, which can significantly reduce blood glucose and lipid levels, and the mechanism may be related to the regulation of nesfatin-1 and apelin.
