Clinical study of Shentongzhuyu Decoction combined with Oxycodone Hydrochloride Sustained Release Tablets in the treatment of moderate and severe cancer pain

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of Shentongzhuyu Decoction combined with Oxycodone Hydrochloride Sustained Release Tablets of moderate and severe cancer pain. Methods A total of 80 patients with moderate and severe cancer pain who admitted to Traditional Chinese Medicine of Taihe County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province from June 2017 to May 2019 were selected as study objects. They were divided into control group (40 cases) and study group (40 cases) according to the random number table method． Control group was given Oxycodone Hydrochloride Sustained Release Tablets, study group was given Shentongzhuyu Decoction on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for a course of treatment. The clinical efficacy, onset time and duration of pain relief, quality of life between two groups were compared. The occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment in both groups were recorded. Results The total effective rate of study group was higher than that of control group (P ＜ 0.05). The onset time of pain relief in study group was shorter than that in control group, the duration of pain relief in study group was longer than that in control group (all P ＜ 0.01). The numerical rating scale (NRS) scores of two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, while the quality of life scores were higher than those before treatment, and the NRS scores of study group were lower than those of control group, while the quality of life scores were higher than those of control group (all P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between two groups (P ＞ 0.05)． Conclusion Shentongzhuyu Decoction combined with Oxycodone Hydrochloride Sustained Release Tablets can effectively improve the analgesic effect, quality of life and safety of patients with moderate and severe cancer pain．
