Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) combined with fiber duct endoscopy (FDS) in diagnosis of pathology nipple galactorrhea. Methods A total of 35 patients (46 milk ducts) with nipple discharge from the Department of Ultrasound, Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from August 2017 to July 2018 with definite pathological results were selected as the study subjects. ARFI and FDS examinations were performed on the overflow side of the breast before surgery, ROC curve was drawn and the area under the curve (AUC) was recorded. Combined with the pathological results, the diagnostic value of ARFI and FDS in benign and malignant diseases of the nipple discharge side duct was compared. Results ARFI and FDS were helpful to distinguish the lesions. Virtual touch image quantification(VTIQ) of ARFI was most useful. When the critical value of VTIQ was 3.55, the sensitivity and specificity of predicting malignant tumors were 100.0% and 82.9%. The diagnostic accuracy of VTIQ combined with FDS were 91.3 %, and the misdiagnosis rate was 8.7%. However, compared with VTIQ and FDS, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Conclusion Both ARFI and FDS are helpful to identify the tumor of pathological benign or malignant. ARFI combines with FDS can improve the diagnostic of accuracy, reduce the misdiagnosis.
