Effect of Silibinin Capsules on metabolic index and vascular endothelial function in patients with metabolic syndrome

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Silibinin Capsules on metabolic index and vascular endothelial function in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods From June 2017 to June 2019, a total of 82 patients with metabolic syndrome admitted to Nanjing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were included in the study. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, 41 cases in each group, the control group received basic treatment, and the observation group added Silibinin Capsules on the basis of the control group. Before and after treatment, the endothelium function indexes of the two groups were compared, basic vessel diameter (D0), congestive vessel diameter (D1), endothelium-dependent vasodilation (FMD); metabolism indexes; body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), fasting insulin (FINS), fasting blood glucose (FBG) and glucose metabolism rate (M); serum Inflammatory factors and liver function indexes: serum interleukin-8 (IL-8), IL-18, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST). Results After treatment, FMD, D0 and D1 in the two groups were significantly higher than before treatment, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05). The TG and FINS levels in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P < 0.05). The M value in both groups was significantly higher than that before treatment, and the value in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The levels of IL-18, IL-8, TNF-α, ALT and AST in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and were lower in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Silibinin Capsules can effectively regulate metabolic disorder and improve endothelial function in patients with metabolic syndrome.
