Effect of cluster nursing mode on shoulder function recovery and quality of life of patients with breast cancer after modified radical mastectomy

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of cluster nursing mode on shoulder function recovery and quality of life of patients with breast cancer after modified radical mastectomy. Methods A total of 160 patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Science and Technology from December 2015 to April 2019 were selected and randomly divided into a experimental group of 80 cases and a control group of 80 cases by random number table method. The control group received routine nursing measures, and the experimental group received cluster nursing mode for intervention. The lateral shoulder movement and postoperative quality of life of breast cancer patients in the two groups undergoing modified radical mastectomy were compared. Results The shoulder abduction activity, shoulder rotation activity, lifting function and patient satisfaction of the patients in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were highly statistically significant (P ＜ 0.01); physiological condition, social/family status, emotional status, functional status and additional attention scores were higher than those in the control group，and the differences were highly statistically significant (P ＜ 0.01). Conclusion The cluster nursing model has a positive effect on the restoration of shoulder joint function and the improvement of life quality in patients with improved radical breast cancer.
