Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effect of Chaihu Plus Longgu Muli Decoction combined with five elements music therapy in the treatment of mild and moderate depression after tumor. Methods From July 2017 to March 2019, 120 patients with depression after tumor in the Oncology Department of Tangshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and randomly divided into control group (60 cases) and treatment group (60 cases) by using random number table method. Control group was treated with Escitalopram Tablets, and treatment group was treated with Chaihu Plus Longgu Muli Decoction combined with five elements music therapy. Therapeutic effect of two groups was compared. Hamilton depression scale (HAMD-24) and tumor quality of life scale were used to evaluate the mental state and quality of life of two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of HAMD-24 in two groups were lower than those before treatment, treatment group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall health status in two groups were higher than those before treatment, treatment group was higher than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of fatigue, pain, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, diarrhea, constipation, poor appetite, dyspnea and economic difficulties in two groups were lower than those before treatment, treatment group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The effect of Chaihu Plus Longgu Muli Decoction combined with five elements music in the treatment of mild and moderate depression after tumor is positive. It can effectively alleviate the depression of patients and improve their quality of life.
