Abstract:Objective To study the antibacterial effect of 10 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine granules such as Galla Chinensis on carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in vitro. Methods Twenty strains of CRE were collected from Department of Clinical Laboratory of Beijing First Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine from May 2017 to July 2018. The broth dilution method was used to detect the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 10 traditional Chinese medicine granules against CRE. The antibacterial activity of 10 traditional Chinese medicine granules against CRE was analyzed and tested. Results Galla Chinensis and Coptis Chinensis have a certain bacteriostatic effect on CRE, with MIC values of 125 and 500 mg/mL, respectively. Rhubarb, Scutellaria baicalensis, Honeysuckle, Dandelion, Phellodendron, Atractylodes, Radix Isatidis and Houttuynia Cordata have not shown Antibacterial effect. There was no change in the MIC value of the commonly used antimicrobial drugs before and after the action of traditional Chinese medicine, and it did not show that the traditional Chinese medicine reversed drug resistance. Conclusion Galla Chinensis and Coptis Chinensis have antibacterial effect on CRE and have development prospects.
