Abstract:Objective To evaluate clinical efficacy of acupotomy in the treatment of genu valgus deformity of cerebral palsy. Methods From March 2016 to October 2019, 12 patients with genu valgus of cerebral palsy were selected from the Department of Acupotomology of Huangjiahu Hospital in Hubei University of Chinese Medicine to use acupotomology to release the adhesion, scar and contracture of the muscles, ligaments and fascia around the knee joint. Valgus angle of femoral tibial angle (FTA), range of flexion and extension of knee joint and effective rate before and after treatment were evaluated. Results FTA valgus angle of patients after treatment was significantly smaller than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the range of flexion and extension of knee joint was significantly larger than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05), and total effective rate was 91%. Conclusion The principle of acupotomotor in the treatment of genu valgus is to loosen the soft tissue around the knee joint, change the FTA valgus angle, correct the deformity; to increase the range of flexion and extension of the knee joint, so as to significantly improve the function of the knee joint of the patient. The curative effect is significant, it should give priority to acupotomotor conservative treatment in clinic.
