Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of mobile video education based on quick record code scanning in perioperative health education of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods One hundred and eighty-two patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi′an Jiaotong University from May 2018 to January 2019 were recruited in the study. Among them, 89 patients admitted from May to September 2018 were served as the control group, and 93 patients admitted from October 2018 to January 2019 were served as the observation group. The control group received a concentrated perioperative video education, while the observation group used a smartphone or tablet to scan the quick record code to watch the educational videos. The knowledge acquisition, behavioral compliance and the satisfaction of video education in the two groups were evaluated. Results The knowledge acquisition, behavioral compliance and satisfaction of video education in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The average number of videos watched by the observation group was (3.17±0.54) times, and more than 93% of patients watched the video at least 2 times. Conclusion Scanning the quick record code to watch the perioperative education video can effectively improve the perioperative knowledge levels and behavioral compliance among the patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention during perioperative period. The mobile video education based on quick record code scanning is a simple method with good patient satisfaction and acceptance.
