Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between serum endothelin-1 (ET-1), von willebrand factor (vWF), Tei index and pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) in neonates with hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH). Methods From January 2016 to January 2019, 113 cases with HPH neonates who were admitted to the People′s Hospital of Langfang City of Hebei Province (“our hospital” for short) were selected. They were divided into mild group (n = 37), moderate group (n = 38) and severe group (n = 38), according to the level of PASP. In the same period, 39 cases with healthy neonates in our hospital were selected as control group. The levels of serum ET-1 and vWF, arterial blood gas analysis index, Tei index and PASP in each group were compared. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum ET-1, vWF levels, Tei index and PASP. Results The serum vWF, ET-1 levels, Tei index and PASP in four groups showed statistically significant differences (all P < 0.01). The serum vWF, ET-1 levels, Tei index and PASP in mild group, moderate group and severe group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Arterial blood gas analysis index in four groups showed statistically significant differences (all P < 0.01). SaO2, PaO2 in mild group, moderate group and severe group were lower than those in control group, PaCO2 in mild group, moderate group and severe group were higher than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum ET-1 and vWF levels and Tei index of HPH neonates were positively correlated with PASP (r = 0.839, 0.866, 0.657, P < 0.05). The serum ET-1 and vWF levels were positively correlated with Tei index (r = 0.530, 0.618,P < 0.05). Conclusion The changes of ET-1,vWF levels and Tei index are closely related to HPH newborns. Clinically, serum ET-1 and vWF levels can be detected to help evaluate the changes in cardiac function and disease progression of children.
