Review and analysis on the prescription of Chinese herbal pieces in outpatient department of our hospital in 2018

Abstract:Objective To comprehensively analyze the prescription of Chinese herbal pieces in outpatient department, standardize the prescription of Chinese herbal medicine, and ensure the safety and effectiveness of clinical application of Chinese herbal medicine. Methods 1200 pieces of prescription of Chinese herbal medicine in outpatient department of Department of Pharmacy of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University (hereinafter referred to as “our hospital”) from January to December 2018 for comment were randomly selected, and the medication situation and unreasonable prescription types were analyzed. Results Among the 1200 prescriptions, 227 were unreasonable, accounting for 18.92%. The unreasonable phenomena were as followed: the clinical diagnosis was not standardized, the writing was not standardized, the use method was wrong, the number of taste was too much, the dosage was too large, and the use of toxic traditional Chinese medicine was unreasonable. Conclusion Unreasonable medicine use in prescription of outpatient exists. It is necessary to strengthen management and improve the prescription standardization to ensure reasonable and safe medication for patients.
