Abstract:Objective To study the changes of serum 25(OH) D3 and immunoglobulin E (IgE) level in children with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) bronchiolitis and their clinical significance. Methods From January 2016 to January 2019, 100 children with RSV bronchitis admitted to Liuzhou Workers′ Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (hereinafter referred to as "our hospital") were selected as the lesion group. In addition, 100 healthy children who underwent physical examination in our hospital at the same time were selected as the control group. Serum 25(OH) D3 and IgE levels in the two groups were detected by Enzyme-linked Immuno Sorbent Assay. In addition, according to the grading scheme, the children in the lesion group were divided into 25 cases in the mild lesion group, 48 cases in the moderate lesion group and 27 cases in the severe lesion group. The serum 25(OH)D3 and IgE levels of the three groups were compared and the correlation was analyzed. Results Serum 25(OH)D3 level in the lesion group was lower than that in the control group, while serum IgE level was higher than that in the control group (all P < 0.05). Serum 25(OH)D3 level of RSV bronchitis children in mild, moderate and severe lesion groups decreased gradually, while serum IgE level increased gradually. The statistically significant differences among the groups (all P < 0.05). The severity of RSV bronchitis in children was negatively correlated with serum 25(OH)D3 level (r = -0.629, P < 0.05). It was positively correlated with serum IgE level (r = 0.604, P < 0.05). Conclusion The serum level of 25(OH)D3 in children with RSV bronchiolitis is significantly low expression, while the serum level of IgE is significantly high expression. The above two indicators may be jointly detected in clinical work to help determine the severity of the disease in children with RSV bronchiolitis.
