Abstract:The fast-growing pharmaceutical industry of China calls for the cultivation of many qualified drug discovery talents urgently. The research of medicinal chemistry is the major driving force of drug discovery. Therefore, the corresponding course teaching represents main approach for the cultivation of drug discovery talents. Herein, three strategies against the problems in present college medicinal chemistry course teaching were demonstrated, including topic-based teaching extension, comprehensive teaching methods innovation and two-dimensional teaching evaluation. These strategies were initially proved efficient in motivating the students to learn more practical drug design skills and in developing the innovative thinking ability for drug discovery. Furthermore, the initial teaching practice outcome was evaluated and some constructive suggestions were thus presented accordingly.
