Abstract:Lingshu is an important part of Huangdi Neijing, in which, the etiology, pathogenesis and treatment of vertigo are discussed in detail. Mentioned etiology of vertigo includes heart and kidney attacked by pathogenic qi, marrow sea insufficiency, abnormal circulation of ying (nutrient qi) and wei (guardian qi), and lack of qi in upper part of body. The principles of treatment to vertigo include adjusting the qi of organs, regulating deficiency and excess of channels and collaterals, and guiding the ying qi and wei qi. Lingshu emphasizes the important role of Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot in the treatment of vertigo. In acupuncture treatment, the acupoints of Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot are selected more often. The treatise about vertigo introduced in Lingshu is of great value to the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo in Chinese medicine.
