Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Tiaodu Xifeng acupuncture in non-dipper hypertension patients with syndrome of upper hyperactivity of liver yang. Methods Sixty-nine patients met the inclusion criteria from October 2017 to October 2018 in the Three Cardiology Department of Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected. A total of 60 patients completed the clinical study and they were divided into treatment group and control group by using stratified random method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given Levamlodipine Maleate Tablets, the treatment group was given Levamlodipine Maleate Tablets combined with Tiaodu Xifeng acupuncture, all the patients were treated for 4 weeks. Blood samples were taken from the two groups before and after treatment to measure the levels of nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET), and the changes in blood pressure and blood pressure drop rate before and after treatment were recorded. Results Compared with before treatment, the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure in the two groups was significantly increased (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure in the treatment group was significantly increased (P < 0.05). The rate of non-dipperhypertension changing to dipper hypertension in the treatment group was 56.7% (17/30), which was higher than the control group [26.7% (8/30)], the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Compared with before treatment, the content of ET in both groups decreased, the content of NO increased, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the content of NO in the treatment group was significantly increased and the content of ET was significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Conclusion Tiaodu Xifeng acupuncture can adjust the circadian rhythm of blood pressure and improve the damaged vascular endothelial function in patients with hypertension.
