Abstract:Objective To explore the difference and clinical significance of red blood cell distribution width (RDW) between benign and malignant hematologic diseases. Methods Clinical data of 150 patients with hematologic diseases in Department of Hematology of Chuiyangliu Hospital Affiliated to Tsinghua University from December 2015 to April 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, and they were divided into benign diseases group (84 cases) and malignant diseases group (66 cases). The RDW values of two groups compared. Results The RDW value of the malignant disease group was lower than that of the benign disease group, and the difference was highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). There were also differences in RDW between different diseases in the malignant diseases group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The RDW value of patients with benign and malignant hematologic diseases is significantly different, which is helpful for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis in benign and malignant hematologic diseases and has certain practical value in clinical practice.
