Abstract:Objective To optimize matrix prescription of traditional Chinese medicine gel ointment for infantile bronchitis. Methods With sensory evaluation, adhesion, membrane residue quantity and peel strength as indices, the matrix prescription of gel ointment was investigated by single factor test and orthogonal test. Results Extracts of concentrated liquid of Chinese medicine of 20∶1 (V/V) was optimized and selected to use as medicine, the drug loading capacity was 2.5 g. The optimal matrix dosage of excipients was as followed: 0.55 g of sodium polyacrylate NP800, 0.025 g of tartaric acid, 0.2 g of PVPK90, 3.0 g of glycerol. Conclusion The gel ointment prepared according to the optimal formulation has stable quality, reasonable technique, and it is feasible.
