Abstract:Objective To explore the composition of hospitalization expenses of patients with colorectal cancer and analyze the related factors affecting hospitalization expenses, so as to provide basis for clinical control of hospitalization expenses and prevention and treatment of colon cancer. Methods The data of 1400 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to Haikou People′s Hospital of Hainan Province from January 2013 to January 2018 were collected, and the composition of hospitalization expenses of patients with colorectal cancer was summarized, and the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses were analyzed by variance analysis and multiple regression analysis. Results The hospitalization time of the 1400 patients with colorectal cancer was 21 days (median), and the hospitalization cost was 19 287.94 yuan (median). Due to price changes and other reasons increasing year by year, the hospitalized patients were mainly farmers, accounting for 64.86% (908/1400), among which the drug cost accounted for the largest proportion of 33.62%. The length of stay, self-paid medical treatment, operation, drug proportion, age, gender and infection in the hospital had significant influences on the hospital ization expenses, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Among them, the length of stay had the greatest impact on the hospitalization expenses of colorectal cancer and the cost increased with the length of stay. Conclusion In the composition of hospitalization expenses, drugs account for a large proportion, so it is necessary to reasonably control the use of drugs, formulate effective management measures, and effectively adjust the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses to reduce the economic burden of patients.
