Abstract:Objective To observe clinical effect of acupuncture combined with medicine in the treatment of insomnia caused by cancer in patients with non-small cell lung cancer after chemotherapy. Methods From June 2017 to June 2018, 110 patients with cancer-related insomnia after chemotherapy were selected from the Oncology Clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They were divided into treatment group (55 patients) and control group (55 patients) according to different treatment methods. Treatment group was treated with acupuncture combined with Tianwang Buxin Dan plus or minus prescription, while control group was treated with oral Estazolam Tablets. After 14 days, total effective rate, Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and adverse reactions were observed. Results Total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). There was significant difference in total PSQI score between two groups after treatment (P < 0.01). After treatment, PSQI scores and total scores of treatment group were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The sleep time, sleep quality, sleep time, hypnotic drug application score and total score of control group after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Clinical effect of acupuncture combined with medicine in the treatment insomnia caused by cancer in patients with non-small cell lung cancer after chemotherapy is significant.
