Abstract:Objective To explore the role of comprehensive intervention in improving medical fear in hospitalized children. Methods From July to December in 2016, 240 cases hospitalized children in Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College were selected and divided into non-intervention group and intervention group according to random number table, with 120 cases in each group. The children in the non-intervention group were stayed in public ward, and the children in the intervention group were stayed in the transformed fairyland ward. Besides, the children in the intervention group were given to comprehensive intervention. The scores of CMFS, length of stay and hospitalization costs of the two groups were compared. Results In the CMFS, the average scores of the four dimensions selected from highest to lowest were the medical environment fear, interpersonal fear, medical operation fear and self fear. The scores of CMFS, length of stay and hospitalization costs of the intervention group were shorter than those of the non-intervention group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive intervention can decrease the medical fear of hospitalized school-age children, reduce length of stay and hospitalization costs. It is worthy of clinical application.
