Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of Modified Bixie Fenqing Decoction in the treatment of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis. Methods Clinical data of 80 patients with chronic nonbacterial prostatitis admitted to Department of Urology of the Fourth Hospital of Changsha City from January 2017 to March 2018 was retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated by Cernilton Tablets, and the observation group was treated by Modified Bixie Fenqing Decoction. The scores of National Institutes of Health chronic prostatitis symptom index (NIH-CPSI), sex hormones [testosterone (T), estradiol (E2), prolactin (PRL)] in the prostatic fluid, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), macrophage inflammatory protein-1 alpha (MIP-1α), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), prostaglandin (PGE2) and the level of urodynamics of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in NIH-CPSI score and urodynamics (maximum urine flow rate and average urine flow rate) between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the NIH-CPSI score of the two groups was decreased compared with that before treatment, and the urodynamics was increased compared with that before treatment. Moreover, the NIH-CPSI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the urodynamics was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in levels of sex hormone, TNF-α, MIP-1α, COX-2, PGE2 between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the levels of T in prostatic fluid of the two groups were increased, while the levels of E2, TNF-α, MIP-1α, COX-2, PGE2 were decreased compared with those before treatment. The level of T of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the levels of E2, TNF-α, MIP-1α, COX-2 and PGE2 were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically signficant (P < 0.05). How ever, there was no statistically significant difference of PRL levels between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Modified Bixie Fenqing Decoction has good effect for the treatment of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis, which can effectively improve urine flow rate, and it is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
