Abstract:Objective To understand the mental health of nurses with humanistic care ability. Methods 117 female nurses from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College were selected. The nurses from Department of Geriatrics (22 cases) were divided into treatment group, which were received humane care service (from June 2016). And the nurses from other departments (95 cases) were divided into control group, which were received no intervention. SCL-90 and SCSQ were respectively used to evaluate the nurses in the two groups in May 2016 and November 2016. Results Before intervention, the scores of SCL-90 and SCSQ in the two groups had no difference (P > 0.05). After Intervention, the scores of somatization, depression and anxiety of SCL-90 and SCSQ in the treatment group were decreased (P <0.05); and those scores of the treatment group were lower than those in the control group after intervention, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion Nurses with humanistic care can improve the nurse-patient relationship, obtain a sense of accomplishment and happiness from the work, which can contribute to alleviate the work of nurses pressure and promote their mental health.
