Abstract:Epilepsy is one of the common diseases of the central nervous system, which seriously endangers human health. About 30% of patients with epilepsy can not be effectively controled through the treatment of existing anti-epileptic drugs, so neuromodulation methods such as vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation have become the focus of attention. Based on the multiple advantages of non-invasive, painless, effective, and convenient operation, transcranial magnetic stimulation is gradually applied to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with epilepsy. This article reviews the content of transcranial magnetic stimulation in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, summarizes its latest research progress, and points out its shortcomings and defects, and develops an optimized and personalized transcranial magnetic stimulation solution for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy in the future.
