Abstract:Objective To study application effect of improved health education model on the conscious patients with endotracheal intubation. Methods From August 2013 to August 2014, 86 patients with endotracheal intubation in Department of Critical Care Medicine, Handan Central Hospital, Hebei Province were selected as study objects. All patients were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, 43 cases of each group. Improved health education model was used in intervention group, routine health education model was applied in control group. The effect was compared beween two groups. Results Tracheal intubation for 3 d and after extubation of 24 h, Hamilton anxiety scale score in intervention group was lower than that in control group (P < 0.05). The degree of treatment (83.7%) in intervention group was higher than that in control group (65.1%) (P < 0.05). The self-extubation rate (2.3%) in intervention group was significantly lower than that in control group (14.0%) (P < 0.05). Conclusion Junior nurses are the high risk factor of unplanned extubation. So the application of improved health education model can improve the level of health education in the junior nurses, relieve anxiety of patients, improve the degree of coordination treatment, and prevent the occurrence of unplanned extubation.
