Abstract:Objective To analyze the anxiety and depression of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, and explore their relationship with the quality of life. Methods 60 patients with inflammatory bowel disease treated in Hebei People's Hospital from September 2015 to January 2017 were selected as IBD group, and 60 cases with physical examination in the same period were selected as normal group. Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to evaluate the anxiety and depression status of patients, and the quality of life was evaluated using the inflammatory bowel disease quality of life questionnaire (IBDQ). Results The incidence rates of anxiety and depression in IBD group were 45.0% and 60.0%, which were significantly higher than 3.3% and 6.7% in normal group (P < 0.05). The anxiety and depression scores in IBD group were significantly higher than those in normal group (P < 0.05). In IBD group, with different levels of anxiety and depression, the IBDQ scores of patients were also statistically significant (P < 0.05). There were significant negative correlations between SAS, SDS scores and IBDQ score in IBD patients (P < 0.05). Conclusion The incidence rates of anxiety and depression in patients with inflammatory bowel disease are significantly higher than the normal population, and the quality of life decreased with the serious anxiety and depression, with the targeted treatment can help to improve the prognosis of patients.
