Abstract:Objective To observe the relationship between high molecular weight adiponectin (HMW-ADP), tumor necrosis factor (TNF) -α, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and diabetic retinopathy (DR). Methods Data of 150 patients with type 2 diabetes who visited the Outpatient Department of Hebei Geriatric Hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were selected, they were divided into simple diabetes mellitus group (NDR group, 50 cases), proliferative retinopathy group (PDR group, 50 cases) and non-proliferative retinopathy group (NPDR group, 50 cases) according to the condition. Meanwhile, 50 healthy subjects were selected as the control group. One-way variance and multivariate Logistic regression were used to analyze the influence of HMW-ADP, VEGF, TNF-α and related factors on PDR and NPDR, and Pearson correlation method was used to analyze the relationship between the three factors and DR. Results Logistic regression analysis showed that duration, age, VEGF and TNF-α were risk factors for PDR patients, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); HMW-ADP and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were protective factors for PDR patients (P < 0.05). HMW-ADP in DR patients was negatively correlated with VEGF and TNF-α levels (r = -0.813, -0.325,all P < 0.05). Conclusion The levels of VEGF and TNF-α in DR patients are relatively high, while HMW-ADP is low and negatively correlated with VEGF and TNF-α. The three factors have a great impact on the occurrence and development of DR.
