Abstract:Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and glucose transporter-1 (Glut-1) in cervical carcinoma tissues. Methods From January 2015 to December 2017, the Third School of Clinical Medicine, Xinjiang Medical University, paraffin sections of cervical resection samples were randomly selected. The HIF-1α and Glut-1 expression of 87 cases of cervical carcinoma tissues (cervical carcinoma group), 75 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia tissues (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia group) and 69 cases of cervical epithetium tissues (cervical epithetium group) was detected by immunohistochemical method, the relationship between the expression and the clinicopathological data was analyzed. Spearman test was used to analyze the correlation between the two proteins in cervical cancer tissues. Results The positive rate of HIF-1α in cervical carcinoma group (79.01%, 69/87) was significantly higher than that in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia group (13.33%, 10/75) and cervical epithetium group (5.80%, 4/69) (P < 0.01); the positive rate of Glut-1 in cervical carcinoma group (66.67%, 58/87) was significantly higher than that in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia group (24.00%, 18/75) (P < 0.01) and cervical epithetium group (20.29%, 14/69) (P < 0.01); the expression of HIF-1α was positively related with Glut-1 (r = 0.644, P < 0.05), and their expression was related with myometrial infiltration depth, lymph node metastasis and FIGO date (P < 0.05), but they were not related with age, cancer size, histological grades and tumor pathological types (P > 0.05). Conclusion The expression of HIF-1 and Glut-1 increased significantly in cervical carcinoma tissues, which is the potential biomarker of cervical cancer diagnosis and disease progression indication.
